Thai Basil Chili Tofu



  • 400g firm tofu, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt to taste



  1. Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut it into cubes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add tofu cubes and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in sliced bell pepper and cook for a few minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Add soy sauce, chili sauce, and brown sugar. Mix well.
  6. Season with salt according to taste.
  7. Finally, add fresh basil leaves and toss until they wilt slightly.
  8. Remove from heat and serve Thai Basil Chili Tofu hot with steamed rice.
