  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Lettuce leaves for wrapping
  • Optional toppings: chopped peanuts, sliced red chili



  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  5. Add chopped Thai basil leaves and cook until wilted.
  6. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture onto lettuce leaves.
  8. Top with chopped peanuts and sliced red chili if desired.
