  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 2 cups of cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish


  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to create the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and sauté tofu until golden brown.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the tofu and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve the teriyaki tofu over a bed of steamed rice.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
