Teriyaki Beef Skewers


  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 3 tbsp sake
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish


  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to create the teriyaki marinade.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring it’s well-coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated beef slices onto the soaked skewers.
  5. Grill the skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked to your liking.
  6. Remove from the grill and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
