Savory Spinach Stuffed Shells
- 1 box jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the spinach and cheese mixture.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed shells in the dish.
- Top the shells with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
