  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream



  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan. Pulse until finely chopped.
  3. With the processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil until a smooth pesto sauce forms. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a large pan, heat the pesto sauce over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream and simmer until heated through.
  5. Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the pasta is heated through.
