Basil Lemon Butter Baked Cod


  • 4 cod fillets
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the cod fillets in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix together chopped basil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, melted butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the basil lemon butter mixture evenly over the cod fillets.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
